Where do I start? Let’s see, I am 48 years old and live in Alberta, Canada. I have a beautiful 21 year old daughter and a wonderful husband who understands my need to “bead,” even if he doesn’t understand my desire to do so.

 

I originally started out sculpting with Polymer Clays ten years ago. I really enjoyed it, and thought maybe I could make my own beads and jewelry. Seven years ago, I found a site on wire wrapping and got started.

My style has changed significantly since then. I love beautiful things, particularly pearls and crystals, and it shows in my work. Usually, I see beads and I want them. Admittedly, I am a "beadaholic". The thought that people around the world are actually wearing my jewelry leaves me awed (I guess either spelling would apply, as some people also tell me I am "odd")

 

My mom has always been very artistic, and truly is my inspiration. She has done fine needlework, knitting, and sewing for years. Several years ago, her talents took her in other directions. She learned tole painting which she is excellent at, and started making soft dolls that are incredible. Her beaded and embroidered purses are stunning. (With any luck, I will be able to convince her to put some on my website). We have done craft shows together over the years, and I love working with her. On top of all of this, she is a Certified Accountant - she studied for 8 years while working full time - and she is an awesome cook. Some act to follow.

 

 Several people have told me that I should have a website, so, here it is.  Please don’t think too harshly of me as this is my first attempt.  I promise it will get better with time.  I shall have my oh so talented daughter take over and do a really professional job.
